What is Huckletree?

At our core, we are a flexible workspace company. We provide workspaces for teams of 1-300 people. But genuinely, we are so much more than that. Our mission is to build the most exciting and inclusive innovation ecosystem in the world, and we do this by creating workspaces that not only make people happy to come to work, but help the worlds most creative businesses thrive.

How would you describe the vibe of the workspaces that you offer?

Our workspaces are designed to be visually stimulating, with bright colors, natural materials, and unique design elements that reflect the local culture and community. We want to create happy spaces that allow people to innovate and create, and the design of the spaces reflects this goal.

Our workspaces typically feature open-plan layouts with plenty of natural light, greenery, and unique design elements such as rainbow archways and digital NFT displays. We also place a strong emphasis on community building and host regular events and networking opportunities to help members connect and collaborate.

Do you have a favourite space and why? (If you don't have a favourite; can you share more about one of the spaces you are fond of and what you like about it)

Asking me that is like asking me which of my children I love most. We have multiple locations across the UK and Ireland, each with its own unique features and vibe. As a business we take great care to design each workspace with the needs and preferences of its members in mind, so there is no single best space.

What have you learnt on your pathway of being an entrepreneur?

Entrepreneurship has been both a challenging and rewarding path for me. I wouldn’t know where to start answering what I’ve learned as the truth is I’m a fundamentally different person today to who I was 10 years ago. I think running Huckletree has been the biggest evolutionary journey that I’ve gone though. The main thing that comes to mind in terms of what I’ve learnt is the need for resilience. Starting and running a business is a journey full of ups and downs, and I’ve had to learn to be resilient in the face of challenges and setbacks.

How has your life changed since starting Huckletree?

Huckletree has been a transformative experience both personally and professionally. On a personal level, it has opened up a world of new connections, friendships, and experiences that have enriched my life. Being surrounded by an inspiring community of diverse (and high achieving!) individuals has fueled my creativity and allowed me new perspectives.

Professionally, Huckletree has been a catalyst for growth and opportunity. It has provided me with a platform to make a meaningful impact on the startup ecosystem and support the success of innovative entrepreneurs. This journey has given me a sense of purpose and fulfillment, and I wake up every day excited to contribute to the vibrant community we've built.

What keeps you motivated every day?

The driving force behind my motivation is the belief in the power of community and the potential for positive change. Seeing the incredible ideas and visions that emerge from within our community keeps me inspired. Every day, I witness people taking risks, challenging norms, and pushing boundaries to create a better future.

Furthermore, the energy and enthusiasm of our team at Huckletree is exciting and infectious. The collective passion and determination to build something meaningful fuels my own drive.

Ultimately, it's the belief that we are creating a supportive ecosystem that fosters innovation and unlocks untapped potential that keeps me motivated day in and day out.

How do you persevere through tough times?

Tough times are inevitable. I try to remind myself of the bigger picture and the long-term vision we are working towards. This perspective helps me maintain focus and not get overwhelmed by temporary setbacks. Secondly, I lean on my support system. Surrounding myself with a strong network of advisors, colleagues, and friends allows me to seek advice, gain fresh perspectives, and find the support I need to navigate difficult times.

Additionally, I practice self-care and prioritize my well-being. Taking time for activities that recharge me, such as exercise, mindfulness, and spending quality time with loved ones, helps me stay resilient and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Finally, I remind myself to embrace failure as a learning opportunity. Every setback is an opportunity to grow, learn, and improve. By reframing challenges as opportunities for growth, I find the determination to keep going.

What's next for Huckletree?

Growing our footprint, with three new locations launching this year. We’ve already announced Regent’s University (we are opening an Innovation Lab on campus), and a 35,000 Sq Ft space by Liverpool Street station. We are announcing the third new location in July.

Equally, we’ve recently become a certified B Corp so from here on we’ll have even greater focus on building a business for good. This’ll mean enhanced focus on the sustainability of our operations, how we support our team members and the way we engage with our local communities (for example). I’m excited about this.
